SAMHAIN NIGHT SEISUN
Our show is set on Halloween night and Leeds CCE are hosting a Samhain Night Seisun in the ole Céilí Barn - there’ll be lots of music and dancing,a few songs and stories reflecting the festival- and we also have a ‘mini show’ featuring a dream sequence- something for everyone! We hope so! Come and join us at Seven Arts for a great night of music and craic- you’ll be very welcome!
50th Celebrations
**OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND**
Friday 25th October 2019 7.30 for 8pm start (Leeds Irish Centre, York Road, LS9 9NT).
Grand Reunion Dinner and Ceili with music/entertainment provided by the Leeds Ceili Band and special guest artistes from Ireland. Tickets are priced at £30 to include a 3 course meal along with the entertainment.
*Special Guest 1: George McAdam hails from Co. Monaghan and is a much sought after Banjo tutor and performer at many workshops, festivals and summer schools around Ireland and abroad. His performance abilities have been acknowledged through winning junior and senior All-Ireland titles respectively. George has toured Ireland with the Comhaltas Echoes of Erin Concert Tour in 2015 and was also a member of the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra in 2016. George is a member of the Blackwater Céilí Band which was founded in late 2014. Some of their achievements to date include winning the prestigious All-Ireland Senior Céilí Band title at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (2018), performing and featuring on RTÉ and TG4 programmes such as: Up for the Match, Fleadh Cheoil programme and Fleadh TV..
George has also collaborated with other musicians namely Cein Sweeney, Dylan Carlos and John McCartain in 2018, recording as a guest artist on their recent highly-rated album.
*Special Guest 2 Shane Creed. Coming to us from Co. Cork, Shane has a vast background in dance, growing up around Set Dancing in Ballyvourney, Co. Cork, and later going on to teach set dancing around Ireland. Shane is a highly renowned Sean Nos step dancer and his exciting style is about unique steps which mean his rhythm and movements are different from any other Sean Nos dancer out there! He has performed all over Ireland, UK, Europe and even in South America and he is a member of the dance group “Officially Tapped”. He has also performed with many famous Irish traditional groups including Danu, Seamus Begley and Steve Cooney.
Afternoon of Saturday 26th October. Shane will be running a Ceili and Set dancing workshop from 1pm which will be free for all. We have also arranged games and an afternoon session 1-3pm for juniors. Further details on these afternoon events TBC. Evening of Saturday 26th October 7pm doors for 7.30pm start (Leeds Irish Centre). The celebrations will continue with a performance of music, song, dance and storytelling by Leeds CCE followed by a wonderful ceili, with music provided by our special guests The Blackwater Ceili Band (All Ireland Senior Champions 2018). The Blackwater have had a very busy year performing all over Ireland since their Fleadh triumph, and we are thrilled to have them provide what will no doubt be an unforgettable night of music and dance. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for children under 18 and £20 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). Afternoon/Evening of Sunday 27th October (Leeds Irish Centre). The celebrations will conclude with a free afternoon/evening social with buffet commencing from 3.00pm in the O’Meara Lounge, where people can join together to reminisce about the weekend with friends old and new and enjoy a chat, a tune and a song!!!

Capacity is higher for Saturday night and therefore these tickets are to be purchased on the door on the night.

As we are compiling a 50th archive booklet as per previous anniversaries, if anyone has any key Leeds CCE facts that they feel have been missed off in the past (for eg. All Ireland winners), then please submit these to me on email. These memories are always an interesting and enjoyable part of any celebration.
