Our History
The COMHALTAS MOVEMENT was welcomed in Leeds and grew very quickly. The Regent, run by Martin Ferguson RIP and Nellie Ferguson RIP, was the venue for the first branch meetings as well as for regular sessions, every weekend. The main aims of Comhaltas were put into practice and the various undertakings were shared out amongst the members with a view to disseminate the aims of Comhaltas as widely as possible.
Leeds CCE has a proud history over the last 50 years as a busy, successful and extremely welcoming branch. We constantly have activity happening with weekly music lessons, monthly sessions, participation in Fleadh competitions, producing shows to take on tour, supporting local events in our community and many other fun things!
Hopefully here you can find out more about our history, see what events we have coming up and take a look at photos from throughout the years!
